There was a lot of AM activity today (this afternoon)on 14286. I tried joining with my QRP AM rig but didn't have enuf suds to be heard. I set a monitor up on the freq and will watch for them again. 4 or 5 stations I believe.

Don,

I think I heard you. I think you were the breaker that was weak, but I did hear you. I eventually gave you a call, but by then you were gone. I'm gonna try to be on 14286 frequently. Please try again to join us.

OK I fired up my bigger Hb rig today and had it going for awhile. I run it thru a tuner to the long wire but it has much more power then the 4 transistor job. It has a pair of 12ax7s (osc buffer, speech amp/ mod) and is screen modulated driving a 6146B which is loafing along on just under 300 volts. I am not quite used to it yet but spent a lot of time today with it. meanwhile the QRP solid state is at the ready anytime.  There was a lot of activity today as well. #)am seems to be coming to life.

Darn....I just got off 20 after making a few calls. We had about a half dozen stations last night on 14330 for the Monday night AM gathering. There was KE7TRP, WA1HLR, myself and several others.. I had a nice Flex-AM to Flex_AM contact tonight on 17M.

Had a brief chat with Ron and W5JAY. Ron was 5/9+10 running 300 watts and Jay was 5/9 running just 13 watts! I was running a whopping 40 watts. The frequency was QRM free.
