I had a nice chat around noon EST with Bob - HB9ASQ who was rolling into New England very nicely from the Bern, Switzerland area. He was running without an amplifier today but was easy copy with 40 watts even when the fades were deep. Bob's audio processing with the Orban Optimod-HF 9105A was first rate for making it easy to catch every word, even when he was at the threshold. He's got a really fine radio voice too which of course is always a big help. The path was very good for the full +30 minutes that we chatted. When I finished up with Bob he hooked up with Dave - WB1EAD who Bob credits with getting him interested in prowling the 15 meter band for AM contacts.

Bob was a regular on 10 meters in recent years. Good to hear that he is on 15 meters now.
