Hey Peter

I looked at the video. Any chance getting some pics etc. of the inside, especially of the PA tank circuit. Its an interesting looking set up in that rack.

So, it looks like a receiver/transmitter complete with speech amp, modulator and PA and power supply.
That is a very interesting piece. Let me ask some of my friends about this. It no doubt has some notable
history worth investigating and just because information may be scant, there are those out there who know.
Thanks for sharing this unusual piece with us!
Happy Thanksgiving,

Looks like the transmitter could work on 160m 80m and 40m and points in between. If you have the interconnecting cables, it shouldn't be a huge deal to get that transmitter going with a little bit of work and troubleshooting.

It looks like Andy Roll Eyes was looking for information about this transmitter in the past. I trust that you got a good deal on this Peter. Wink

We are all looking forward to hearing you on the air with us on 80m Peter. Get up whatever antenna you can get up in the air and get that Valiant on.

It was only - 6 degrees F out there this morning, but its supposed to warm up a little for the weekend, so better conditions for putting up some wire? Wink

All of the Northern radios I have or have seen are "Channelized"   The transmitters use fundamental frequency xtals and have a tuned output for each channel.....They operate between 1.5 and 21 MHz.  I have a radio similar to  that you show in the pictures..Mine is triplet of 6146s mod by a pair....Yours looks like 807s...I will look in the Northern pile when next I go out to the shop...The rxs  have  channelized xtal freqs to match the tx and also a vfo to cover the BC band up to 3 MC ? I have to look to be sure...Northern used good quality components when they built these rigs....Good luck ....Steve

Interesting set.  I've never seen their HF gear.  However, about 10-15 years ago I used their VHF/UHF airborne models for search and rescue.  Quite complex and versatile, with great quality.

;DHello STEVE, thank you so much for the sckematics, it was greatly appreciated. Now I can get to work and figure stuff out about it.

  !!THANKS AGAAIN STEVE!  Grin

Your transmitter and my transmitter are a bit different because yours are 6146 and mine are 807 but some things are a bit different because that.

.. but i did notice that the power supply is almost identicle with the acception of 1 tube. Yours has a 12dsj7 and mine has 6sj7. Also I notices the notes on the power supply scematic my transmitter uses a bit of a different transformer than yours but not much different. Either way its very very close

You also did a good job taking that picture for me and others. Im sure now this will help me and all the owners of those who own  Northern Radio Company transmitters. I neever thought i could ever find one, but you got me it so thank you once more.

I will be studying more of the scematics and making notes of the differents between mine and yours Grin Im not an expert but with all the help of you folks here in the forum and in Canada im to get it on the air on 80 meters. As well hoping to hear your on the air.

Do you by any chance have the scematics for the reciever or any other info related to this we are talking about.

Here are some pictures i didnt include last time around.   73's Peter

Nice rig, three 807's modulated by a pair, all those output sections, receiver to go with it....

Just set it up for your favorite frequencies, pick the antenna and talk!

Should be a lot of fun to play with.
