Anyone planning on attending?? I've never been to this 'fest and would be great to hook up with some like-minded folks.

One of my favorite monuments. Lee and Jackson.
Esoterica you don't really want to remember or even know  Grin but I was born about a block or two from Stonewall's birthplace in then, Clarksburg, Va. ( now WVa.)... Um, a hundred and change years later.  As you might surmise he's a local hero here, almost as much as in Lexington.
Is the hamfest in sight of the monument?

Monument? I dunno...
I've always got my head down looking for goodies on/under the tables!

I have been a couple of times and it seems like a great fest for boatanchors.
FWIW, photos I took last year are at

VERY nice Nick.  thanks for pix. Sure looks like an active hamfest.
The pix of the Mackey Marine rcvr caught my eye even before I saw your note about taking it home. Looks cherry.

No, the monument is about 14 miles WSW of the fairgrounds.

It is going to be very cold and windy tomorrow, but that will not stop us.  We will be there!

It was a little windy and chili at the hamfest...It must have kept A LOT of the people in the bone yard away. It was a real let down from past stone mountain hamfests  Embarrassed. Oh well, Shelby is only about 9 months away...

I only shot a few photos this year - didn't want to take my gloves off to deal with the camera. Brrrr.
I thought the turnout was lower than last year, but there were still a lot of boatanchors for sale at reasonable prices. Some good deals on test equipment too. And I even found an oddball Navy VLF antenna tuner (AN/SRA-17) that I never expected to see for sale. I did restrain myself from the USN DA-484/URT air-cooled 25kw dummy load. Pretty nifty 6' rack with a large blower at the bottom and 24 big 300 ohm clip-in resistors in the top.

I think this is a fun hamfest with a high proportion of vintage and AM equipment plus useful parts. Interesting people to talk with too.
