While browsing my Drake files for info about the Drake 2LF (low frequency converter for the 2A/2B receivers) I came across the Drake factory note for adding 160 meter coverage without using the 2LF.  It only requires 3 capacitors and a crystal and appears very simple to implement.  The Drake bulletin says it is only applicable to those receivers (presumably the 2A) with a serial number of 1,000 or higher.

I currently have a 2LF in my 2B but I may make this mod to my 2A so it will cover 160.

Thanks Rodger for that information.  I have a 2A and 2B and will have to check the SN on the 2A.   I usually use the 2B on CW with my novice DX-60 for SKN.  Great CW receiver but a bit narrow for AM.

I used to think that too Joe.
But now +\- 3kc is about my limit.  All my older kludge receivers sound alike.  Grin
