I heard several carriers down at the noise floor and a 6 land station that was about an S7, and I believe I heard Jim WD5JKO down there somewhere.
Maybe 7290 is the place to be this time of year.

I wouldn't give up on 20 so easily....We could start earlier in the afternoon and go to 14325 to avoid the YLSSB net...

I called a few CQ's at 6:15 PM CST. Nothing heard, and the band seemed pretty dead.
RIP Monday night 20M AM Net....till springtime..

I had a short QSO with Larry (KE1S) about 6:20 CST on 14.328, before the band went belly up. Band noise and QSB really bad.
My Henry 2k-4 is back up after a flashover in one of the 3-500Z Chinese tubes.
Now running on the original Eimacs until I can get another pair.

We did meet every Monday evening until the 20 meter band started to hit the dumper recently. Guess everyone is waiting for more sunlight and Springtime.
Thanks for the interest and keep watching here for updates.

I got on too last night at about 7:30 CST...Band was dead end to end..except for a few RFI Birdies in my neighborhood. Went to 40M (7290), it was better, but down about 20 DB from normal.

I got to the shack at about 7:15 last night and heard several SSB QSO's on .325, .330 and .335, or thereabouts. Listened until 8 PM and heard several tune-up carriers, but they too were SSB tuner-uppers.
Didn't hear any carriers under the SSBers.
Oh well.......

Got on and called CQ in a brief lull in the slop bucket action. Gave up shortly thereafter.

I put out several calls on 14330, and 14288. I tried to squeeze between some massive SSB signals that seemed wider then I was. Many seemed to have lots of LSB energy that was garbled IMD. I could not hear my spot signal unless I disconnected the antenna.
Went to 7290 then 7293. Had a good round table with KD60S, N2XD, and WD7F. I was pivot man, signals good. Later on, I heard Timtron working several stations.
20M was a bust.

I had a nice 30 min AM QSO on 14330 from about 9:30 to 10:00 PM local time. I called CQ and got an answer on my third call. One station in Ohio, and another one in BC Canada. Signals were excellent, then rapid QSB, then gone in the span of about a minute. But it was great while it lasted. Second QSO on the new 20M AM RF deck. Was running about 300W carrier. Dipole antenna. Good reports. The station in BC was QRP and Q5.

We need to enlist Timmy or one of the other guys/gals with "Atom Smasher" transmitters to "plow the rows" a few minutes prior to the start of the net.

If SSB stations are transmitting in the frequency area of interest, why would you want to incite possible deliberate interference to "plow the rows", since that's what you would be doing.

Last night I was one of the 7 or 8 AM'ers on 14.327 or so after 7 PM EDST.
KD6OS Ralph W0VMC Robert N2XD John
And several others that are listed on a note pad that's back in the ham shack this morning.
And to the fellow from Florida (I think...) who said we were off frequency, here's my reply.
I was on 14.27 "something" megacycles because the analog scale on the 50+ year old Mohawk receiver only gets that close.
Anyway, most of us heard just about everyone else and we had a great time.

I'll try and join you guys next week. I've got to find a little time to replace the failed coarse loading caps in my Valiant. I've also been distracted with an SB220, that is requiring a little work as well.

About 5 minutes ago I was hearing Timtron perfectly on my little battery powered portable wiith a wire thrown out the window, then the band died suddenly, at least the path between me and Maine did, because a little bit later Dave, W9AD comes in so strong it sounded like he was sitting out in the front yard.
