Hello all. Not sure whether to post here or in the xmtr section. Anyway, I have a Valiant that I have rescued and after some componant and tube replacements, have been working AM here and there with good success and great reports. I also use it on CW and this is where I am having a new problem. Every once in awhile, with no real reason that I can discern, the frequency will "jump" a few kcs. This is NOT a gradual drift. It doesn't seem to matter if the rig has been on a long while or not. Things I have done...Gears etc all cleaned and lubed. VFO moves butter smooth. Band switch cleaned with deoxit. Works great too. Did the resistor mod in the vfo. Replaced vfo tubes with new ones, including the vr tube. Any ideas??? Thanks...

Well....I had done a search for info on the VFO problem and did not get much info. After I spelled "valiant" correctly, as opposed to "valliant" the search engine came up with all sorts of good info. Like Homer Simpson said..."God, help me because some times I'm just not that smart"...lol   Roll Eyes
