AM News:

This afternoon I was listening to 80 mtrs.
I heard nothing on 3615 therefore I 'tuned up' to 3705 khz.
But.... I heard (again) AM on:

3660 khz.

Some weeks ago I heard evenso AM on that freq.
I had no time to make a qso and sent sms to Henk: PA2HV
He had a qso with a station from Norway in AM!

I tried today to make a qso with the AM stations on 3660 khz. Smiley
Only 1 (or 2) AM signals were strong by me: S9 +5
I give cq...... and again cq..... then...
One station comming for me on the band, his call:

LA2OLD

Nostalgi Radio Club call, LA2OLD
Only for radios 25 year or older
Freq 3.660 + / - QRM Saturdays at 14.45NT
Norway

Above info you can find on: www.qrz.com
His qth above Oslo.... thats far away..... and he could speak a little English!
He told me: I am his first AM station, who is not in Norway!
I used my old Allbander, Yeasu FT 901 DM
Running only +/- 25 Watts into the horizontale dipole +/- 2x 25 mtrs long.

I found evenso this info: http://www.hamradio.no/la2old/

But we had not a long qso, there were more stations on 3660 khz.
Sorry... others very, very weak for me.
I recorded 2x LA2OLD from the webreceiver Zwolle (middle of The Netherlands)
http://onlinereceivers.net

Ofcourse I have sent LA2OLD an email and I hope to get more info about AM in Norway.
Oh by the way, he told me: every Saturday afternoon they are on 3660 in AM and SSB.
I think it must be some 'technical net'....
I am 'thinking', because most I could NOT understand.... Most in Norwegian language
Nice to know there is more AM on 80 meters! Cool

Greetings,

Henk

Hello AM Lovers,

This afternoon again AM on 3660, from Norway & Holland!
First LA2OLD were in ssb mode with others, but...
Later on 3660 khz in AM mode, with some stations from Norway.
- LA2OLD, max. S9 +15, soft audio
- call?, name Robert, S 9, weak audio
- ?HMA, S7, weak audio
- PA3HCO, Jan, S9 +35,, good audio
- GW8TBG, Mervin, S9 +15, very nice audio

I heard more stations from Norway, but very weak.
Most stations from Norway have 'soft' audio.....

PA3HCO (the Talkradio from Holland) on air with his BC 610.
PE1MPH on air with my old Yeasu FT 901 DM and only 25 Watts.

LA2OLD has promised me to sent me info by email.
About his equipment and more about AM in Norway.

See/listen below for some recordings.

Greetings,

Henk, pe1mph
