Bro got this at a ham fest.  Looks vintage but is made by Blue.  Called the 8 BALL.  Super cool aluminum spring mount.  XLR phanton powered.  Sounds great.  Very clear with lots of highs.  Get close and you sound big.  I put it on an old solid table mount for now.

Best part is they are not expensive.  You can get one cheap.  I thought some of you guys would like the look.

Ran it into the audio rack for the 304 TL transmitter tonight for fun.

Looks like they're discontinued.
Here's a review: http://www.electronista.com/reviews/blue-8-ball-condenser-microphone.html

Could they have made the mount any more ugly  Roll Eyes

The 8 ball mic was so so..  It sounds good for voice. But I like the BIG spring mount. It reminds me of the old astatic.  I agree. You either like it, or hate it.. But if you like it. The mic is $50 or less and the mount is $47 new.

Hey Clark that looks like a fun mic to croon into.

That company has made a bunch of novelty microphones.  They aren't quite as silly as the soap "mic on a rope" that you karaoke with in the shower, but don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

The latest version that uses that same shock mount is called a "snowball."

Maybe it would help if you can lift the logo plate off there and just have this old-looking unit without the brand name.

That's a beauty Clark. It needs a floor stand pole and whoever speaks into it absolutely has to be wearing a bow tie! It should look great with your vintage transmitter collection.
