our family has quite a chore on our hands, as we have to clean up the farm estate of our late grandfather. he was a ham collector for many years. ther is so much stuff here we dont know where to start. a pole shed is just full of old ham radios we simply dont know what it all is.
we would love for someone to take it all, because trying to describe each piece would take forever.
we charted just some of the items we see, and here are a few names if it helps:
drake, kenwoods.navy oae, helicrafters, us army collins, a huge office desk/radio unit, johnson, phillips, and the list goes on. the estate has been sold, and the items will need to be cleared out no later than this weekend.
as far as prices go, we are at a loss, and figure it would be more to use to have someone clear it out for us, as most of it looks to be very heavy. please leave a way your can be reached.
the farm is just 6 miles southeast of the town of new richmond.

Minnesota.

OMG!!

Johnson Desk Kilowatt... etc...!!

Yeah, "will need to  be cleared out no later than this weekend"!!!

OMG!
Travesty!

What a friggin waste. Sad

Google maps does not list a New Richmond Minnesota.

However, there is a New Richmond Wisconsin, just across the river and twenty miles East of Minneapolis, MN.

That was posted over in antiqueradios.com. I reposted it here.
A real heavy-metal guy should get this gear, not an eBay flipper
with no feeling for the real value of this gear.
I almost suspect there is a Collins R-390 in the pile.

Only a few dozen current licensees are listed to the New Richmond, Wisconsin zip code I checked.

Among them, our own Robert W0VMC.

Hopefully he's aware ...

All sounds a little too good to be true, maybe another Craig’s list hoax? Myself got to the point of not wasting time there just for that reason. It would be great if it was true.

I thought the same thing.  Some of the typos are implausible, as are the particulars the writer chose to describe.  Not what a casual observer would typically say or point out hoping to draw some interest.

Still, it's been easy and kinda fun to poke around on Google maps (including street view) matching addresses in the database with anything to the southeast of town. One landmark area in that very region is Casey Lake state park, which might very well be part of the hoax.

On the other hand, several sites have obituaries for a name check among old buzzards.  So maybe some sleuthing will prove or dispute the listing.

Good luck in the corn test. Find that pole barn !!!

Could just be the typical email address collector. I use a junk yahoo email for cracklist when Im searching out Harley parts and bikes. There's usually a posting or two for something that's way too good to be true. Last week or so, I responded to an ad for a beautiful 97 heritage springer for $2500 that was close to me. I knew it was a crap ad, but worth a try anyway.

I'm close, in Minneapolis, but the Craigslist ad has been pulled.

Do you have the phone number from the original listing and I'll check it out?

Greg -- not to dissuade you / keep on it -- but

I heard back just now from Robert, W0VMC.
He's aware and sniffing around.

Nothing yet to confirm or dispute.

Almost as good as the time I put a pile of DX-100s for sale on EBAY with wind chimes in the picture.

Got a direct hit with that one.

Next day I heard one of the great bloviating barometers of all which is right and wrong on the air.

Same guy did all he could to torment W2VJZ for years.

Bloviating is to speak verbosely and windily.
A barometer measures pressure.

Maybe a bloviating barometer is a windbag who tries to pressure or annoy others with his own exhaust until he gets a response??

Great phrase to describe somebody who is inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity.

WOW!  I was just at Minneapolis Airport with a rental car this past weekend.  I guess the Johnson Desk wouldn't fit in my carry-on stuff....
