This past weekend I finished up most of my tower project and installed the old restored Traffie Hex Beam at the top. I still have a little more work to do on the tower so it's currently nested which means the Hex Beam is sitting at about 35 feet. Even at that height it plays beautifully on 20/17/15/12/10 meters right where it is. While playing around on 20 meters I tuned across the strong AM signal of Jose - KB4RS down near Tampa and couldn't resist calling him and saying hello. His FT-101E into a pair of 3-500's with 100 watts of carrier was very loud up here today and his signal was touching S-9 +20dB at times. I'm looking forward to working a lot of the "left coast" stations with the new antenna!

One thing I'm certain of is that there is too much certainty in the world.
