Not going to win many performance awards but it it done. Poor thing had been stored somewhere damp for a long time and subject to mods that included "upgrades" to octal tubes. All back to normal now except for the addition of a gronde3d plug and a fuse.
Lot of time cleaning out tube sockets with a Dremel diamond tip tool and deoxit
