Yep, I was listening to people on GT out in CO. One guy was so pissed that he wanted whomever it was hanged Grin Grin Grin Grin It was about S3 out there but annoying. I listened to it for about one hour and carrier was very stable within a few cycles of its center frequency.

What's GT?

I first heard the carrier about 0400 GMT. Still on when I called in quits about 0900 GMT. Seemed to have occasional short periods of low audio frequency tone modulation, slightly musical, maybe 150~, like someone testing using a signal generator. Strong carrier, but substantial QSB.

Hope someone didn't have a catastrophic mishap (electrocuted?) or medical issue (heart attack?) while tuning up or working on the transmitter.

Is Tim awake?? Or did his batts die?

I thought of that, but no audible snoring in the background.  Grin

That is for Global Tuners. They have receivers on line all over the world. Some are quite good while others are useless.

I went out to check whether the dog fell asleep on the stomp-to-talk.

Nope.

I heard it too.  Was easy to DF.  It's the usual guy who doesn't own a dummy load and often uses the airwaves for testing.

Don't axe me who, cuz I ain't saying...  Grin

Bottom line:  Use the airwaves for testing only when we must - like when checking for RF in the audio, testing antennas, etc. and give our callsign -  otherwise  use a dummyload.

Merry Xmas to ALL!!!

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Heard him pretty well down here, enough to hear noise in the background like someone was farting around with their transmitter. Definitely appeared to be coming from the northeast. And we can't blame Irb anymore.

I always toss my call out while testing or setting up the transmitter. It's a great opportunity to snag a contact or three and maybe stir up some activity. If you're actually doing long-term testing, having a set of ears standing by can be handy.

  " Huh "

If one places a tennis ball inside an undershirt, a sleeping person will tend to not sleep on their back....  and, hopefully, will not snore.... ..

I didn't hear that one but some turkey was following K4SSB around the band and heterodyning him the other night.
