Found O'Miss Net working on 14286 after calling QRL (no replies) then CQ 20 AM,Got a reply on AM, 'freq. in use OM'. The AM Calling Frequency..Said they were unable to use thier usual 20m frequency by a nice enough op..I let him know where they were and it was not the best place to hang out on... Please., Let's get with it, Let's try and use it daytimes...we may well lose this one. I'm to blame too...lane

This 14.286 has been a busy USB frequency for the last couple of years that I have been listening.  Often the culprits are on 14.285.  Did you know that 14.285 is considered some sort of QRP calling frequency?  HOW IS THAT FOR Coordination!?

Fact is, and this has been said before, that no one person or group OWNS a frequency.  Ashtabula Bill used to call CQ there and I agree Lane, that we need to call CQ and use the frequency when available.  But as to "losing" the frequency.... the frequency is there all the time, sometimes busy (with non-AM) sometimes not.

14.285 is indeed considered a QRP calling frequency. Who the heck decided to put it 1 Kc from 14.286 really has a warped sense of humor.

I was on 14.286 calling AM CQ this morning. I was greeted by KZ8O. I was would be barred from this message board if I conveyed what he said to me. What a jerk!
