From the ARRL web site dated 7/26/11:

To assist League members in communicating with one another and with ARRL staff on topics of common interest, the ARRL has established three forums -- Contesting, Awards and Technology -- on the ARRL website. Visit www.arrl.org/forums to chat with fellow hams about these topics. Additional forums are planned once we have gained some experience with these three. Forum Rules can be found here, http://www.arrl.org/forum/home/rules

I see that the AM poll there is missing an important choice.

There should be a choice to the effect that "I'm very interested in AM, I just haven't tried it yet."

There's still lots of things that need to massaged into the online forum structure to make it truly useful and functional for members. But it's a big 21st century step in providing member access and hopefully dialogue with more people within the ARRL if they can be persuaded to participate. Ed's a great guy and very technically savvy, but I doubt he will represent and/or discuss ARRL senior management policies, decisions, and present/future actions or proposals. I might also be useful to have a Division category where all Divisions are listed and division members can come to the forum for local division-type discussions with participation by Directors, Vice Directors, Section Managers, etc.

Ever so slowly, the ARRL is evolving into a more open type organization. The "good old boys" type club is also fading with the elections of a woman ARRL President, a woman Division Director, and several much younger men as Division Directors and Vice-Directors over the last several years. There's also the plan of providing QST in an all electronic format.  As a member, I applaud the direction they are going.

I'm glad they are updating their site; soon the forum will be another QRZ with an equal amount of idiocy unless they take a firm stance on topic control and rules.

Anyone notice the FCC site lately? Can't find anything there any more; searching for "enforcement" just brings up bad quality results. Fortunately there is a link to the "old site".

My old link to FCC EB still works: http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/AmateurActions/Welcome.html

and: http://transition.fcc.gov/eb/Welcome.html

Ham radio is now like the surprize in a box of "Cracker-Jacks". There is a new source of RFI every day.

It seems simple enough.
Go to http://www.fcc.gov/
In the Search Box put "amateur radio enforcement" and hit Enter
A list comes up and it's the first one on the list. Click it on, read and/or bookmark it for future review.
And there are addition items in the list relating to other amateur radio "stuff".

The more specific you make the search, the easier it is to retrieve the data.

You can also go here on our board, to get to various FCC, ARRL, IARU, RAC, RSGB sites: http://amfone.net/Amforum/index.php/topic,8560.msg63179.html#msg63179

Looks like the ARRL on line forums http://www.arrl.org/forums have been greatly expanded recently. Under the Technology forums, there's even one now called AM operating and techniques and a host of other topics.
