CW is just a narrower version of AM

Chris, thanks for the practical advice from a real mobileer. I can see with the tall Volvo that much of the the current portion of the whip was close to the body and how that might hurt the radiation. The fact that I had the feed so high on the old trunk mounted maggie is probably the only reason it worked at all!

I do want to use a shunt feed and that will raise the antenna some, but I don't think I will go as far as to raise the ground point above the trunk.

I am in the process of putting together a home brew bug catcher and was wondering if anyone has used relays for the band changes?
