Nate Mansfield, Sales Manager of Kimber Kable, happily showed off the company’s newest products, the complete line of Kimber Select KS 6000 series speaker cables ($4400–$18,800/8ft pair, depending upon level and wiring).

For all you discerning computer users, there is a $799/M USB cable on that same page...  Roll Eyes

                     _-_-

But they are all on the same page of the magazine. George's cables look like they would make a better antenna feeder.

Here's Nate Mansfield showing off his cables.

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Look at these guys' laughing-all-the-way-to-the-bank grin.

What is that 6' of power cord going to do about the 100' or so of ordinary oxygenated copper wire that runs from the pole pig, through the meter and house wiring to the mains plug?

“We were marvelling at how much of a difference different power cables made to a system’s sound. I kept refining my ideas of power cable design, until I came up with idea of mixing different conductor shapes to best convey the whole range of bass sound.”

Victor believes that a large solid conductor is great for low bass, a flat conductor is best for mid bass, and a polymer coated Litz works best for highs and transients. He has combined all three in the Purple Rush power cord. The cord also employs an exotic field-balanced winding technique to lower the noise floor and cancel magnetic effects... "  Grin Grin

It's obviously snake shaped, but what's not so obvious is the oil that goes with it!

I always marvel at plugging a $7,000 power cable into a $.79 receptacle on the end of 50 ft. of 12 gauge Romex from Home Depot.

Don't these people have a brain?

For those prices, you could almost install superconductors complete with liquid helium supply.

Ah, but they replaced that $.79 receptacle with a $250 "hospital grade" one.

But I doubt they bothered to replace the Romex with oxygen-free copper wire.  And they can't do much about the regular oxygenated copper wire used to wind the pole transformer, nor the hyper-oxygenated aluminium wire (with numerous splices, rubbing against tree branches, and crappy insulators generating line noise on the radio) that lie between the power sub station and the pole in front of their house.

They just tore down the old  county hospital and replaced it with a brand new high-tech  for-profit one on the other side of town. They bulldozed it down and didn't try to salvage much from the building.  It never occurred to me to contact someone with the county and see if they would let me salvage all the power outlets in the building.  I could have put them on ePay as genuine authentic "hospital grade" mains outlets complete with the red plastic phenolic.  Sad
