That's a pretty neat design! Dual conversion with a 175Kc low IF and a regenerative detector should make it pretty selective as well.

Not many of the "simple" receivers were dual conversion. The shame of it is that I allready have everything needed to build it.............................

Great little receiver Rodger.  I just love those sets built with National dials!!
I made a copy of the article so hopefully will have time to put one together someday.  I would modify it a bit to cover 160M as well.  The cabinet looks about the size of an SW-3.  It would look good setting next to a Letine 240 or maybe a Harvey Well's TBS-50.  They were a few years earlier but close enough for goverment work!!
Thanks for sharing the article.

It is an attractive little set and it is in my file of things to build.  I finally acquired a Millen Variarm VFO and I would like to pair it with a 6L6 transmitter like the one I posted earlier along with this receiver.

I have scanned a number of articles as I go through my collection of Radio and Television New and now I need to find time to build some of them.

Rodger,
I may have mentioned before but I have the same Millen VFO.  You will like it driving your 6L6 xmtr.  A small Heising modulator would be good to modulate that 6L6!  I like the way some of the OT rigs were packaged in small wooden table top racks.  Masonite painted black was real popular.  Some Hoyt meters on it would add the finishing touches!
Have fun...
