I'm at work listening to a friends online rx (he has a ten-tec in florida).  I can control it from the web and it streams the audio....

I hear you calling CQ Heavy Metal Rally very clearly into Florida (listening in Louisiana).

Why aren't others there!  I listened to 3.885 and heard NOBODY into Florida.  Strange!

I've sort of wondered the same thing.   I have been operating 1880 and expected 160 to come alive but nothing has happened except for the usual QSOs one would normally have on 160 (which have all been great--but no big broadcast rigs etc. hammering down).  I think condx so far tonight have been less than wonderful on top band.

I hung around 3880 and 3885 for awhile but only 1 short contact.  Either conditions are pretty lousy or a lot of folks got their fill of heavy metal during the early start.

I got very little sleep last night checking on a sick little one (fortunately better now) and I spent 2 hours plowing snow from our driveway and road today so I am going QRT.

I went down to 1885.... nobody. I cruised 75 a little and found Gary, W2XM holding court around 3720 but being I was rock-bound, I couldn't go there. I was up on 3743 farting around with a test or two but no takers. I tried up on 7160 and either the band was completely surpressed or my NC-183D went deaf. I heard a few SW stations but that was it.

I worked W0VMC and W9A (W9AD) on 1880 around 03:30 Z in a small roundtable.  W0KH was in there with a T368 but not great copy.  I hope I helped these guys get a few points.   I signed out after about 20 minutes and went to bed.  I guess the day's driving and clearing snow caught up with me.  These guys would normally have big signals but they were average due to condx.  The locals, W9A and AB9MQ came in well but they are < 20 miles away from me.  Sounds like all the action was on 75.  I assumed (mistake) that big iron broadcash rigs would be on 160.  Tuned up around 1985 a few times and never heard anything up there.  I should have QSYed to 75 but I was too lazy to do it and kept thinking 160 would wake up.

Rob,

I heard you on 1880, but didn't join in because it sounded like the usual roundtable on that frequency, and the group was already getting large. Then that guy went into his tirade, pissing and moaning because he got skipped over in the rotation.  There was some activity on 1885, but most of the stations were in 1-land and 2-land, and too PW for me to copy here.  I was feeling crapped out,  so after listening for a few minutes I shut it down and came back to the house.
