$25.50
Neat stuff and I could use a velvet vernier. One with the two section variable would make a neat TRF or maybe a "no RF stage" superhet radio.

Hello All, This will be quite interesting to see the outcome! We have "SWAG's" of free to over $50 or so, with just about everything in between.
Remember "Let's Make a Deal", hosted by Monty Hall? They had a similar segment on the show where a few contestants would try to guess the retail value of misc items. The one closest to the real price won a prize. Sometimes they weren't grocery type items and you could win a trip to a exotic places like South Bend, Indiana, Camden, New Jersey, or Poughkeepsie, NY, just to name a few. or perhaps a chance to win a brand new '69 "Belch Fire 8" 4dr hardtop with high compression heads and dual exhaust with accessory seat belts, etc etc.
I think the "AMfone" version of "Lets Make a Deal" with the National Velvet Vernier listed as the prize; is far better than the Monty Hall television version, and the prize is something most of us could actually use!
Many thanks again for the post and the prize; whomever may be the lucky winner. Like most of us involved with this thread, I'm "chompin at the bit" awaiting it's outcome.

Ok Mike,
Here we go
The numbers for the haul as I have them are:
3 Electrolytics $2.00 2 Meters Free 2N3055 Free standoff Free 3 Tube sockets $1.00 4 Tubes $16.00 5 Velvet Verniers $30.00 1 BNC to R390 Mini BNC Adapter Free Tapped Coil $2.00 Variable $5.00
That would bring the total to $56.00 USA.
Doug N0WVA is the winner!! He guessed $52.00.
Congratulations Doug and thanks to everyone that participated.
Good show Mike!

Im going to say $52.00. I would have asked at least $10 each for those 4 brass velvets.
Sorry guys, Jim simply knows the value of a vernier and thus he deserves another for his collection. I hope a home on a VFO or a regenerative receiver or on a tuner is in this baby's future. Keep checking the mail Jim. There were some honorable mentions and some cheap ... well I won't go there 73's Mike Wu2D

It might be solid state, though! Thanks for the generous gift, it was fun playing, too!

Dougs middle name begins with J.
I assumed he went by that and Jim fit perfectly!
