Red Snapper is excellent blackened but I prefer my Yaesu served Sushi style.
Derb, congrats! That is an excellent Zorch for the relatively low voltage present in a Yaesu. Extra points for both color and coverage.

oh it's working now, I put in another board yesterday.  Tested it on the air with 3 Gooee Lueee. Thats the board under the final cage with about a gazillion wires from the transformer going to it. It was a pain but it only took about 3 hours from turn off until turn on. Just resoldered and transferred one wire at a time. my joints is shiny, yo. Gotta go to the cancer doktar today and set up my next MRI. |

My Oncalligist say I'm good for 6mos. I gradeeated from 4mos to 6mos CT scan.
They now have flavored barium stuff......nicesh

naw, jack sent me the filter board wit the am filter in it. ( and some other gizmos) I gotta do the AM mode switch thing, change the neutro cap, put in new lytics and do the audio mods. Hey I sprung fer an original Sam's Photofacts for the 75-A2, teh better to fix it with. after I get #2 Yaesu done, that will be next. I need to buy a 1/2 watt resistor kit at the fester on sunday. dont have any 1/2 watters. get those parts bins filled. |

Jest a heads-up, that 75A-2's been modded a few times. I added a product detector, and someone else did some AVC mods as well as a mechanical filter as I recall.

The only bug that thing had (at least when it graced my shack) was the typical Collins AVC crap that you see in the A2, A3, and 51J. That is, tuning across a weak signal the S-meter will read in reverse slightly then jump to S-3 or so. There's no good, smooth S-meter reading on a weak signal with these radios.
I've had 3 A2s, an A3, and 3 or 4 51J3s/J4s and they ALL did/do it. The A1 and A4 I had didn't, though.

I might start at it today. Got the rest of the day and feeling good for a change. I noticed the thing didnt seem to be quite as bad as peeps on here said it wuz. It's nice having a receiver to listen to while working on other stuff. |
