CW is just a narrower version of AM

Well the rain held off but the turnout was a bit off today - hey folks are just too scared of the rain at festers and we have had a few bad examples of washouts over the years.

It was a good day to shop under the tables and the pace was leisurely. I do not think we had all of the sellers in today. My guess is about 1/3 low compared to last Spring. But I only stayed till 1:30 PM so I just tasted the Fester. More stuff should come out tomorrow.

But there were bargains today. I saw a couple of Mohawks, Two HQ-170's, Globe Scout, Warrior, 3 R390A,s Plenty of BC-348's, BC312,s ARC-5's HRO's, and high end Racal RX out early. I was parts hunting for projects next Winter and I spent 60 bucks not including the 10 dollar admission.

For my outlay I got:

4 yes Four 5Y3 class power transformers (all test good)
3 365 pf Variable Capacitors
4 trimmers
5 silver plated PL-259 Connectors
2 Antique Tube Shields
2 small output transformers
3 small interstage transformers
2 Type 45 Tubes!!!
2 6SN7's
1 Type 56 tube
1 Type 6D6
6 12SK7 metal tubes
0-100 dial for a paraset
1 6J5 metal
1 12C8
1 Type 27
1 12AH7
3 Antique Dials
3 Tube Sockets
1 3500 kc Command set Calibration XTAL
And Finally a BC-453 Q-5'r in Good shape but Sans Tubes

Oh and 20 issues of CQ and 73 mag from the 50's

Not a bad parts haul. Get your butt to Nearfest!

I just worked the gang from the Fester on 3.885.  Larry, LGQ was at the controls of Steve's Class E rig and was doing a nice job.  Seems like everyone was having a good time.  Good signal from the special event station.  Others in the QSO were,
W3FJJ, W6XR, W8BAC, and WD8BIL.

I was standing behind Larry and wanted to say hello but that was one long old buzzard transmission Joe.  Then got involved yacking and missed Larry's next turn. You were strapping at Deerfield.
