Moxie is still around, still disgusting, and probably makes a good filament battery if you sink a bar of copper and a bar of lead into it and hook wires to the bars.

I've switched to sipping bottled water and my waistline and energy level are much improved. I think it has made a difference at the dentist too.

I use tap water with a Brita filter. Bottled water is the Hummer of beverages. The first bottled water sold in the UK was Evian. Is it any coincidence that Evian spells Naive backwards?

Can't sit back and allow them to sap and impurify all of my precious bodily fluids.

I just did a Google search on Mexican Coca-Cola..The American Coke bottlers aren't very happy about even the small presence of the Mexican import, but it's not illegal to import it, so there's nothing they can do about it.

The price in Denver is $20 for a case of 24 12 oz green glass bottles.

One store owner in Atlanta reported that his Mexican Coke outsells the American version by 3 to 1, even though it costs more. Coke claims there's no difference in taste between the American corn syrup and real sugar versions, but there definitely is if you do an A-B taste test. It's an entirely different kind of sweetness.

And so the American people have voted with their wallets. Hope the American bottlers will get a clue.  Sad

nope. the legal team at coke will introduce legislation into congress through one of their paid off minions,  and get all mexican coca cola bottles reclassified as illegal immigrants. Then we will have laws outlawing it, drug gangs smuggling it, shooting each other over it, and candidates fighting each other to build walls to keep the evil "good" coke out.

latest example of lying scum minion: John Edwards lying about his love affair for 2 1/2 years.

Enjoy the soda and beer while you can. The socialist enviro-police will go after the CO2 in those products next. It will start in the form of a carbon tax. But everyone will feel good because they are doing something to save the planet.

I am almost curious enough to give Moxie a try...  While searching for it I came across a site that has the hard to find groceries:  http://www.hometownfavorites.com/    A lot of things I remember from my childhood in the 60's are actually still available including candy and bubble gum cigarettes in these politically correct times.  And they do sell Moxie.

My buddy Carl, VA3CGM is originally from Maine. He is a Moxie-maniac!   He turned me on to the stuff. It's basically a root beer, but more like an Italian Brio-Chinotto.  It has a hint of bitterness and a long finish.  Not quite as distinctive as a real Chinotto, but close.  Best served ice-cold in a glass  with ice.

He brought me back a case of the stuff from his recent trip "home".  There are several Moxie websites too.

Any of you guys ever had Vernor's ginger ale?  Excellent shtuff!  Syrup allegedly aged in oak barrels.  Comes out of Detroit but I've seen it in Western NY and as far west as CA.  Unfortunately, not available in New England.

MrMike,

But with the internet almost everything is available anywhere and everywhere (as long as you are willing to pay the price):  http://www.hometownfavorites.com/products.asp?dept=1018&pagenumber=2

Now if only Jello would reintroduce their Lemon Chiffon pie mix.  When I was a child my mother used to make that with a thick graham cracker crust and I still have cravings for it.  The closest simulation I have found is to mix coolwhip and lemon extract into the Jello instant cheese cake mix and it is close but not quite the same.

What I really miss are real hot dogs that go "crunch" when you bite 'em. Skinned hot dogs as opposed to skinless ones. Man they were good. These hot dogs you buy nowadays are just tube shaped baloney. Angry
