Title: Source for reasonably-priced, chassis-mount RCA ceramic phono jacks? Post by: W2FAL on January 12, 2007, 11:38:00 AM Maybe it's because I haven't bought any in a while, but $4.25 each, from the only on-line source I could find, seems high for a chassis-mount ceramic phono jack.

- ceramic? no one uses "ceramic" RCAs anymore. - check Mouser and Digikey for standard nickel plated "switchcraft" type RCAs - plastic insulation. - the standard RCA in use these days, high quality type, is gold plated and has Teflon (R) insulation which goes all the way through the body. The old ceramic ones had ceramic only in the front, and fiber material at the rear - not very good. I think Mouser & Digikey may also carry the fancier types, but try looking around at the surplus and audio suppliers for the gold plated ones with the Teflon (R) insulation... _-_-WBear2GCR Title: Re: Source for reasonably-priced, chassis-mount RCA ceramic phono jacks? Anyway, this is my attempt to keep a Navigator as original as possible. This is the rf output jack and the ceramic is cracked. (Yes, I know it doesn't do AM, but as a member of this group says, "CW is just a narrower version of AM".) Now to find an authentic meter....
