Post by: Tom W2ILA on December 17, 2006, 04:59:55 PM Agreed, duplicolor #353 is a GM color with a very slight metallic that works perfectly over the anodized cabinet. It will make you happy on the Johnson gear. Wally World was always out of stock but I have found it a couple times at Auto Zone.

have stripped the cabinet down to bare shiny metal. Now I need to find out what preparation I need to do to the bare metal before I apply paint. If anyone can suggest a process that has worked for them I would appreciate hearing about it. Do you use any kind of primer? If so, can you give some detailed information on the process from start to finish? Has anyone thought about powder coating your radio cabinets and possibly front panels? I think that may provide a much longer life and be much more resistant to scuffing and chipping, etc. Thanks for your time. Happy new year to all....
