Biblical subjects? ;) Sorry, just could not resist... I apologize. _-_-WBear2GCR Title: Re: Transformer Rewinding Post by: WB3JOK on November 30, 2006, 11:45:25 AM I am accepting htransformers for rewinding While we're picking on Gary, what is a "htransformer"? ;D -Charles Title: Re: Transformer Rewinding Post by: KB2WIG on November 30, 2006, 12:41:43 PM its like a bh curve without the b .... klc
Title: Re: Transformer Rewinding Post by: Todd, KA1KAQ on November 30, 2006, 12:56:12 PM Gary's a good ol' Mainiac, and they have their own vocabulary and spelling.
I'll also add that I've had several non-htransformer deals with Gary (keys, radios, parts), all of which were stellar. I've spoken with several who have gotten iron rebuilt by him and were pleased with the product as well as the price. And I've actually heard of one item that didn't work properly and was sent back. Gary rectified the issue, no charge of course. THe more difficult it becomes to find old parts, the more appreciative I am of the folks who offer these services, parts, and old radios themselves. (just send the commission check to my callbook address, Gary) ;) Title: Re: Transformer Rewinding Post by: WZ1M on November 30, 2006, 03:31:54 PM OK Todd......commision check is in the mail, if you believe that. As for my spelling, it was the best I could do at the time. Stubbed toe on the the bedpost, in the dark and came up with a few words that I bet have never been heard on 3785, hehehehehe

As for Gary's rebuilding ability, it is as good as any I have ever seen. He did a secondary HV transformer for my Globe King 500 and it looked new. Unlike a famous rebuilder, he took the iron and rebuilt from the transformer I sent. The other guy doesn't do that. That is partly why the other guy's price is much higher and it is a waste of good iron. |
