Title: Usiing RSS for AMfone
Post by: W2INR on October 22, 2006, 10:31:27 AM
After a request from a user about the availablity of an RSS feed for AMfone we have added an RSS service.

This will give you the latest 5 posts on the site without having to go to the site.

You need to install an RSS reader on your computer and then type in the following URL:

http://amfone.net/Amforum/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss

Some browsers will support RSS so check it out.

Then you can set the announcements as you wish with your reader,

Thanks for the suggestion Bruce ( UJR )!!

RSS READER - I use this one, it was free and I just deleted the entertainment files so AMfone was the only feed being monitored.   RSSREADER   http://www.rssreader.com

Cool. Not sure if it's working properly though. I can't seem to get it to work with Firefox (it has Live Bookmarks which use RSS feeds). It does work with Safari though.

There are several RSS extensions for Firefox too (I recommend Sage). The Safari browser also has a built-in RSS reader. Thunderbird also has RSS capability or will by adding an extension.

If you don't want to mess with an RSS reader, just bookmark the link below. It gives you the last 10 posts on the forum.

Link works OK with Firefox 2.0. Just click the link and a dialogue page will come up asking if you want to subscribe. Select either the built-in Live Bookmark option of your favorite RSS reader and then click the Subscribe button.
