Title: Attn: Astronomers! Ecliptic? Post by: Bill, KD0HG on September 05, 2006, 09:42:16 PM I want to make sure that I understand the definition of the Ecliptic correctly...
Is it the path the sun and moon take across the sky, from east to west, crossing the Milky Way like an X? If so, their paths across the sky change over the year, the sun moving north in the spring and south in the winter. The moon's apparent path changes as well. So, which path is the ecliptic, the more northerly or southerly one? Would someone mind explaining it to me? Title: Re: Attn: Astronomers! Ecliptic?
