About 15 years ago, I barely worked KH6CC on 160 meters. Marginal signals.
Using the SP-600, homebrew KW and an inverted L at the old QTH.

Dean
Well worth the trip. He lives in a very nice area and has a heck of a station. Also a real nice guy.
I heard you on 75 this summer from Northern Maine and you had a great signal.

I get to Tucson several times a year on business. Maybe we could have an eyeball at one of the local brewpubs

Ok, many thanks

Im asking because I never can make a QSO in 80Mts (3885) with anyone in this forum, maybe to noisy  for a AM DX qso in this days, looks the options are 20, 15 and 10 meters, looks im gong to need a beam antena, I dont have to much power, only the bare viking valiant or the Collins 32V3, any AM frecuencys in this bands?

Gracias!

10 Meters: AM segment starts at 29.0 MHz (29.0 to 29.2 MHz); Band dead most of the time at sunspot minimum; might have some openings in Dec. or January.

15 Meters: Look for AM signals anywhere between 21.400 and 21.430 MHz; Band a little better than 10 right now but not by much.

20 Meters: AM Calling Frequency is 14.286 MHz; you will find AM generally at, or around this frequency.

Pedro this winter should be good to my location.  I am in the "South of Oklahoma" and just last night I worked a guy in central Wyoming who is about 1200 miles Northwest of me.  He was using a Viking 2 into a dipole.  Static was not that bad, but tonight I cannot hear anything on 3.885.

75 Meters is already showing signs of long skip in the morning just before sun up.  There are several hams on 3.880 in the mornings near San Antonio and I will bet they will be able to hear you this winter when the static is gone.  I have trouble with guys who are 100-150 miles away, but those over 300 miles are strong.

I will be watching for your posts here to see when you can get on the air and I will listen for you.

My best AM DX was Illinois to Kwajalein Is, using a Multi-Elmac AF-67 into a random wire on 10M, back in 1990.
