Title: Passing of another Great American
Post by: WD8BIL on July 03, 2006, 12:53:59 PM
David Starr Bingham   1936 - 2006

Dave was my father in law. (in-law status not relevent)
He was my second Dad.
Dad served in the Army Signal Corp as a Teletype Operator
while stationed in Puerto Rico. His CW was quite good and was a guest
operator at my station many times.
He is survived by his wife Norma, daughters Terry, Willow(my wife) and Pam.
His only son Robert was killed in a car accident in 1976.

Dad was an evangelical preacher and a great teacher. His influence in my
life and many others is immeasurable.

Sad Buddly, that generation had/has a passion for general freedom, personal freedom, sacrifice and long term determination that won't be seen again.  They are leaving us much too soon.

It is a shame that today's children do not understand their long term determination and giving nature.  My condolences.

To All Amfoners,

Thank you so much for the replys and e-mails over the last few days. I was in China at Dad's
passing but made it back in time for the funeral.(with 15 minutes to spare)

The concern and caring from those here is generous and very much appreciated.

God Bless you all !

Buddly

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law passing. You've helped me greatly with your support when dad passed and most recently when grandpa passed...
My Condolences go out to you and your spouse, plus both sides of your family. Losing a loved one is a difficult thing, myself and maybe others don't realize how much we loved a person until they're gone. Sometimes it's a blessing though when one is very ill and it brings peace and tranquility back to the family.
Be strong bud, we're here for you!

Bud,
sorry to hear of your loss but glad to hear he left you with much to remember.
Somebody just asked me "how did you learn to build a house" my response my Dad.
Too many people today are raised with a TV, cell phone or ipod as a reference and grow up as idiots and can't understand why.
