Post by: WD4TC on June 17, 2006, 09:45:47 AM
Good morning to the Group. I am Starting to move my RCA BTA-1 MX  to 75 meters. Before I start I am wondering if anyone has already done so and what I am going to face and what  quarks the transmitter has in doing so. I would also be intersted in How you did it and maybe what conponets need to be got Before I start.  if you would share the info..Thanks   Tim.. WD4TC..

Hmmm... ya say it has quarks, eh?

Better be that it has quirks, not quarks.

Quarks might be a bit of a problem... harder to clean out than dust bunnies, imho.

Tim,

Good Luck with the new toy, hope to hear it soon.  Not sure if I can be of any help but I have a BTA-1R that works 160/75/40M.  Not sure how close it is to the MX but if I can help, just drop me an e-mail.  I am good on QRZ, and there is a link to some pictues of the move and conversion there also.

Roger , thanks for the offer . The  1-mx is  different as it uses a pair of 833s  modulated by 2X833s  I was just checking to get some Ideals and maybe some different  ways it has been done and doing some homework b4 I started...TNX ....Tim...WD4TC..
