Title: Memorial Day Thanks Post by: W1UJR on May 28, 2006, 10:49:50 PM It’s all too easy to think of tomorrow as another day off work.
I have made a private tradition of watching the movie "Saving Private Ryan" each Memorial Day. A simple idea perhaps, but it reminds me powerfully of the sacrifice of those who gave me Liberty today. It's a rare person indeed who can watch the opening of that movie with a dry eye. To each and every veteran on the board, my most sincere thanks for your service to our country. You are not forgotten. God Bless America. 73 Bruce W1UJR Title: Re: Memorial Day Thanks Post by: WA1GFZ on May 29, 2006, 10:15:26 PM Right on Bruce!
Title: Re: Memorial Day Thanks Post by: W1QWT on May 30, 2006, 02:59:54 PM Well it turned out to be a beautiful day. My first time marching in the memorial day parade. AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
Col. David Hunt of Foxnews fame, gave a great speech. He is from my hometown. The marching stuff all came back to me. I am the one second from the right, in the blue suit, carrying the blue Navy flag. The young Army guy on my left just got back from Iraq. He and I had a nice chat about the good things going on that we don't often hear about. Regrads Q, W1QWT (http://www.scituatepost144.org/images/parade2w.jpg) |
