Title: FLEX RADIO AM FEATURE POLL
Post by: w3duq on February 13, 2006, 09:48:37 AM
:o The programmers at Flex-radio have asked us to compile a list of features desired for AM use.

I'll start it off by asking for 5 bands on the eq rather than the current 3. Also, put the various stored mode toggles on the user interface panel rather than buried in the setup menu.

Please post your ideas and I will compile a list for flex.

Brian, K3VH K3VR (tnx correction) seemed to have to go through many hoops to pick a format and roll a recording from the receiver.I would recommend some default setting and an icon to quickly hit REC as needed.

Hi Bill:

Thanks for asking the question. From one who is not gonna buy one....

1) audio limiter (soft and hard, adjustable, negative waveform detection only option)
2) audio compressor...multiband optional.
3) audio pre-emphasis up to 6db/octave to correct for receiver audio rolloff.
4) adjustable brick wall low pass filter (adjustable say from 2kc-20kc after clipping).
5) HLR roger beep!
6) Good Buddy echo!
7) audio memory locations to play back Irb-isms.

I know it has a sync detector, I wonder of it can do synchronous I/Q detections for that stereo platform effect?

Maybe they can write modules that we can fudge with?

Thanks!!
Dan

Paul,

Who is Brian, K3VH?  QRZ.com says K3VH is some young guy named Joe, who is a college student.

Herb, K2VH
