Title: K1JJ 10 meter beam endorsement
Post by: WD8BIL on January 25, 2006, 10:30:19 AM
Hey Tom,

I used your design and built one of your 10 meter beams.
It was build and play. With the dimensions in your artical the swr was perfect
at 28.6 mhz. It seems to work OK FINE !!!

The 15 meter version worked the same. Just scaled the measurements up
and she played outta the box.

Good job !!!

Glad it worked out for ya, Bud!

So how did your 15M link to South America work out using it with the sunspots at a minima?

BTW, I can't take any credit for the design.. it's so simple these days to just click and print out a Yagi design... they work just as the computer says...  ;D

So far so good on the 15 meter link to S.A.

Last Sunday we needed the QRO but still had 100% copy.
Seems to be a window between 14:00 and 16:00 EST.
Before or after that its a no go.

Yep, I understand once you learn the propagation habits, communication can occur even in minima spots on the higher bands.

I know Chuck still operates the higher bands and anticipates the openings with his logs these days.

It's a lot of fun what you're doing - get to know the people and then put up a specialized antenna for the job....
