Tubes are good, at least the ones I can check. :) Reisitors have been checked and some replaced. All coupling caps replaced. Every stage is showing an increase in audio right up to the grids of the 4X150D modulator tubes. Screen voltage is there. So, this leads me to question the way I am feeding the radio mic audio. ??? The last owner disconnected the resisior that feeds voltage to the carbon mic. I assume this is so he could use a regular microphone. What difference would there be in output to the first amp tube between the carbon mic and an amplified D-104? Am I simply not feeding enough into the 12AT7 first stage? Do you any experience with using a "regular" mic with this beast? Thanks! |
