May I add ? Just came from the Vietnam Wall where the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine General Peter Pace, delivered some really stirring remarks. He's got some men up on the wall, and this marks his first chance since becoming Chairman to thank them on Veteran's Day. He was choked up when he heard this: http://www.wa3vjb.com/sound/VetsDayVietWall.mp3 And he choked up again after a wreath-laying, when he stopped to speak with a young Marine Lance Corporal, Zachery Knight, 20, wounded a month ago in Iraq when a roadside bomb blew up, taking off his leg. While I am not a veteran, I remember the veterans I know and hope they have good things in their life. I know a few who have had very hard war experiences and am happy to say I have not had to go through that. I appreciate their efforts and history. Thanks for your post. Dan W1DAN |
