Title: 40 meter driven array
Post by: W1IA on October 23, 2005, 11:18:54 AM
I was chatting with Tom K3MRG and he directed me to an outstanding article covering driven arrays.

This may be the basis for scaling to 80 meters in the back 40.

Interesting, Brent -

That system is exactly what G/INR is doing on 75M with the exception of the last piece of double matching coax to go from 25 to 50 ohms.

I like the suggestion of making the elements 1.4% shorter to compenmsate for mutual coupling. Never saw that suggestion before.

This is a great system which is all driven - perfect if it is going to be less than 3/8 wave above ground for a given band.

Hope you try it for the DX window, OM.
