Title: 25C2509 Post by: W1QWT on July 24, 2005, 06:33:38 PM Hi
I have a Kenwood TS-140 that has a bad transistor. The transistor is used to to shunt RF from the receiver when in the transmit mode. Probably not too important as to what it is replaced with but I was wondering if anyone has any info on this part including what is the base, what is the collector etc. I do know that it is a NPN device and operates in the saturated mode. I can't find it on the WEB. There must be some info on this 25C2509 part. Maybe in Japan? Title: 25C2509 Post by: W1RKW on July 25, 2005, 04:34:26 AM Q,
There's supposed to be a table for the specs at the bottom. Alignment did work out but there's a link at the very bottom to this particular transistor that shows the table. 2SC2509 Silicon NPN Transistor Final RF Power Output Description: The 2SC2509 is a silicon NPN epitaxial planer type transistor designed for RF power amplifiers on HF band mobile radio applications. Had to replace them in my 430s recently, they are the drivers to the output tranny's in that radio.
Sub's are the NTE-236 (~9$ each) and RFparts sub's in the 2sc3133 when you call to get 2sc2509's. They sell a matched pair for 19$, and have a 25$ min order limit. Watch out because the pinout is different than the 2sc2509 for both these sub's. Larry Title: 25C2509 Post by: k4kyv on July 25, 2005, 01:17:24 PM How many years old is the TS-140? Parts already unobtainable. Compare that to how many years you could still get new replacement parts for most tube stuff, and even today n.o.s, used or easily found substitutes are usually available.
