Title: 24 MOSFET class E 80 160 transmitter build looking for Elmer to help Post by: KD6CXW on January 28, 2025, 06:41:01 AM I plan on building a 24 MOSFET PWM 80/160 transmitter.
using a DDS VFO . Looking for an Elmer to help with build as I am new to the Class E . I've repaired and built tube amplifiers and worked on and modified tube transmitters . I have found Steve WA1QIX web site full off great information . I've acquired some parts from a person whom decided not to build his transmitter, getting ready to order PWM boards and other parts . 73's KD6CXW John Title: Re: 24 MOSFET class E 80 160 transmitter build looking for Elmer to help Post by: W1DAN on February 02, 2025, 02:58:31 PM Hi John:
I've only built a 6-FET PDM rig, but I am happy to attempt to answer questions as I can. Dan W1DAN Title: Re: 24 MOSFET class E 80 160 transmitter build looking for Elmer to help Post by: WBear2GCR on February 04, 2025, 08:28:43 PM Okay, I did not look you up - where are you located?
There are three parts to the build - parts - the custom chassis work - the labor The 4th one, cost. How did you decide that "24 Fet" is the right thing for you? _-_-bear Title: Re: 24 MOSFET class E 80 160 transmitter build looking for Elmer to help Post by: KD6CXW on February 12, 2025, 07:46:40 PM to many things going on, hard to find time for projects . I have been reading Steve's site on AM PWM transmitters and decided to go from tubes to solid state . Started collecting parts , will need more though . The fabrication is no problem that's what I do for work. Finding time may take some work. Need to order boards and parts from Steve then work on the DDS VFO , making sure it acts the way it should and with a touch screen display with options I would like to add. |
