Title: Re: Johnson Thunderbolt Post by: KA2PTE on August 27, 2024, 11:06:22 AM Im running about 3480V plate on my modified Tbolt, and there is no arc-over on any of the
stock output tuning arrays. I just installed the new "computer generated" RFC3 plate choke that has no self resonance on the WARC bands like the original one Johnson made has....up on one of the WARC bands, it self resonates and will fry I am told. I took the opportunity to put the dial cord back on the plate tuning mechanism, had to tear apart the front panel. Does not look like an easy job to restring it....one pulley is on the chassis, the other is on the front panel and to get at both the panel has to come off.
