Title: National NC-183D paint
Post by: kq6xy on May 23, 2024, 03:27:19 PM
I just restored a National NC-183D and now it is very sensitive and sounds amazing.
However, the previous owner repainted it a blue color with 3 Civil Defense sticker on it so I would like to repaint it to the original color or at least close to it.

I know there was a boat anchor paint site but it appears to be gone now so if anyone has a source or recommendation for paint I would appreciate it.

Larry,
Are there any "unrefined" areas inside the cabinet, bottom?
Take those to a local paint store, they can read it electronically and make you some custom spray paint,

I asked about this subject back in March and W3JN replied with this link.

If you read through this forum you will see pictures of a NC-183D that a guy painted with Seymour cast-iron gray paint.
