Title: Buffalo Craigslist lots 'o stuff
Post by: KB2WIG on November 01, 2023, 06:10:11 PM

Too far for me, this almost is a massive sale. Collins, Glob Scout, a few 4 -1000, 833s, command sets and it looks like a lot of parts.

If that was a little closer I would go to it. I'll bet you would find a few of those 813's you're looking for there! That wasn't from the station of W2NZL? He used to be a regular on 160M running a pair of 250-Ts modulated by a pair.

Glad it wasn't Buzz but it looks like K2LNU made some nice boxes with some big bottles!

There were only 2 813s, and I got 'em. NIB for $28. I'm a bit happier now, but I'm still looking! Grabed 2 4d32 'cause they were there. 60 W polypedence mod xfermer for $5, and a ? Combo ? transformer- winings for 10/11/12 Volts. You choose what voltage want out; rated for 10A.

A HP spectrum analyzer followed me home.

Good day for parts, but it is "reflective" going through someone's estate.

Good deal! I wished I lived closer. I think I would have like to score some of the hardware and the drawers they were in. I'm curious as to the condition and the price of those 250-T's and I saw a couple 833 jugs. I thought that was an HP-141T. Do yourself a favor and swap out the 100V regulator tube on the mainframe, (it looks like a neon lamp) and replace it with an 80V Zener. There is a mod to change that. The tube doesn't come up quick enough and the 100V rail will crowbar and blow fuses. It was notorious for that.

Edit: Here's the mod.

One of the the 304 TL had pieces floating around -  the fil showed continuity; the other one seemed OK. I got cold feet and didn't go for it. I think the 250 s were gone when I got there, or I didn't notice. There were 833s around, but I didn't bite..... I have too many unfinished projects/repairs/ improvements. The Collins stuff; I didn't need anymore things to cart. I did pick up several parts like insulators and flexible shafts.

There was lots of stuff still there.

Thanks fer the HP ckt changes.   The 141T works and  only cost $70.
