Title: ART-13 Audio Amplifier Post by: Opcom on July 03, 2023, 08:05:55 PM Found an ART-13 Audio Amplifier module in a box of stuff. It looks pretty nice. Compact for something that will take a micropohone and drive 811A grids.
The ART-13 has clear audio, but not the best frequency response due to smallish modulation transfomer. I wonder if the speech amp module can do better especially on the lows - the limitation being in the mod iron? Some capacitors may have to be changed, I can see that. The iron 'size' looks OK for the 3W or so the 811 grids might need, but I haven't had time to mess with anything from this estate yet. Just trying to finish getting what's left out of the garage. T 202 with the split secondary is a good one to use for the 50's era Handbook 6L6 speech amp.. and others.. Ive never played with a complete art13 speech amp.. Have fun..

Brain was stuck on 811s and didn't notice the many possibilities there. Title: Re: ART-13 Audio Amplifier Post by: W3SLK on July 06, 2023, 10:47:17 AM When Ray, WD2AFJ was tooling around with the MK-214D that I ultimately bought from him, he made a modulator using the mod iron from an ART-13. He took a pair of 572B's and modulated P-P 813's before ultimately making a 'beefier' 805 modulator. Don't over look that transformer either!
