Title: The Internet Archive is building a library of amateur radio "broadcasts"
Post by: W1EQX on October 06, 2022, 08:03:13 AM
There is an Internet Archive initiative to archive recordings of amateur radio communications. I think this would be of interest to the AM community as I know there are a lot of "stranded" recordings of AM activity in tape form as well digitized recordings on the AM Fone website.  Having copies stored at the Internet Archive would ensure proper access and storage for generations to come.  The link to the article is posted below  Carmine K1VL (formerly W1EQX)

They "hiss" into their microphones? Hissing works with standard ham gear too.
It must be sone mal-adjustment on the hi-fi AM'ers processing.
Never heard full-fidelity hissing but I imagine it's a wonder to behold!
Hope that clip makes the cut!  :)
