Title: receiver, radio R-1723[P]/GR
Post by: Opcom on June 11, 2022, 09:59:37 PM
Has anyone ever had or used this model of Watkins-Johnson military radio? I have the unit shown, but no tuning plugins! Kind of not useful.. but if I had the manual or a useful tuner, it would actually be some fun!

Believe that's a CEI/WJ 205 receiver, part of the RS-160 system.

What Johnny Novice said.   That's

Wow that whole thing is wonderful! But I should only need the HH-11 or HH-11-1 pluging tuners to make it go. I think I have or can get an I.F. type panoramic adapter that will work for it though not related to the system. Maybe it's a 10 or 20Mhz type unit.

The guy I got it from promised me some plugins but never could find them in his warehouse of old junk and stuff, and has passed away long ago from the big C.

So, how about that serial #1? Pretty wild.

Thanks very much for identifying that unit! At least I know what to look for. I am presuming much, for one thing, that a single plugin will do the job. Manuals and even the info of what's in the plugin and how it interfaces may be scarce but it's a start.
