Title: Transformer Rewinding Post by: W1RKW on February 13, 2022, 02:46:03 PM Anyone have the latest and greatest on who does transformer rewinding these days, especially potted transformers?
Title: Re: Transformer Rewinding Post by: W3SLK on February 14, 2022, 06:23:40 AM I know the guy that bought out Gary, WZ1M has not started production due to health issues according to his website. However he is on youtube giving out advice. I came across these links http://ludens.cl/Electron/Magnet.html http://ludens.cl/Electron/trafos/trafos.html that prompted me to do my own rewinding. I don't know anything about potted transformers other than they can be a mess when overheated!

I believe they do custom rewinding also. Not just primary/secondary impedances or DC resistances but wire and lamination data and other pertinent information. I'm going to order my winder this week. I want to start off with a small interstage transformer, a Globe King mod transformer, a 3.2KV CT transformer and hopefully I will have the confidence to do a full size modulation transformer.
