Title: 805 linear amplifier?? Post by: KE6DF on August 14, 2021, 10:19:58 PM I have a several 805 tubes and wondered if they could be used to build a linear.
I know there are many articles around for lineard with a pair of 811a tubes. Perhaps a grounded grid, cathode driven design with a pair of 805s. Does this make any sense? Issues? good datashet with audio and RF class B operating conditions. https://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/049/8/805.pdf Would grid lead inductance cause issues with grounded grid service on the higher HF bands for this 1936 tube? A pair in class B modulating a pair in class C would make a nice 200 watt AM transmitter. Don't know the upper freq. it would work at though.
