Title: Gary WA1EWQ SK
Post by: Carl WA1KPD on August 07, 2021, 08:34:02 PM
We have lost one of the good guys. Always enjoyed seeing Gary at festers, swapping HT-9 and other BA stories.
A friendly, quiet, and kind man.
73 Gary.

This is sad news. Gary was a great guy, more a vintage gear buff than AMer. Got some nice equipment from him over the decades including my pristine SX-28A. I clearly recall driving from VT to the big mall in Enfield, CT next to I-91 in November of 1997 to meet Gary one weeknight to pick it up. He had a knack for finding the good stuff and his prices were always fair.

Gary was a fixture at hamfests in the northeast, always friendly and always with something interesting on his table. His presence will be sorely missed by those who knew him. As Carl noted, a gentleman in the true sense of the word.

Sorry to read about this. I proselytize AM whenever someone will discuss it. I'ts more fun that any other mode. More raw and close to the heart of the machine.

My word.  We're losing too many good souls too quickly.  Or so it seems.

May Gary rest in blessed Peace. ❤✝❤
