Hello everyone,
The move to New Castle Pa should be happennin around the end of June.
Moving into a nice house on a 1 acre lot. Plenty of room in back for something. What would be some thoughts as to using a telephone pole for a support structure? Inverted Vee 60 feet apex the ends 30 feet from the ground?
Re create my  inverted "L" ???? that was a nice antenna for me at the Maryland location. But how to get the horiz part high and flat???? Two 60 foot tele poles???? The reason I hang with tele poles is that they are less of an eye sore than a Rohn 55. Plus there's a  money thing. Plus I don't want to make a lot of waves with the neighbors, yet. Maybe a little introduction and my wife cooking some yummy lumpia might get them to be happy.

An inverted V that close to the ground will cause a lot of rfi and won't work that well.
flat top at 60 feet will work a lot better. Been there done that.

Thanks for reminding me. The present QTH was flat top wires and never a complaint of RFI. My last house was the Vee and yes Murphy was there. I'll figure something out here.
Looks like two telephone poles then. HA!

Each one is diff !

My 75 meter inv vee is 45' apex with ends to 25'.
Great coverage all the way to the east coast. Gud reports from
Warren W1GUD in Fla.
Many west coast QSOs and (of course) Dino from out west
does really well.

No RFI problems in 20 years !!!

I gots an acre also Mop !!! The antenna is maybe 75 feet from
the house at the closest point.

Glad the new house plans and new XYL are working out well!

Yes, generally, you will get a better pattern and more efficient
system on 75M with a flat antenna vs: inv vee.   Inv Vee config
is OK, but shud be the last, last resort after trying to get the
ends up high. It's actually better to have the ends higher than
the center, if you have a choice, but flat is best.

The end and center supports can be metal... they are virtually
invisible to a horizontally polarized antenna. No magic with telephone
poles except for the hi hi FB society acceptance cuz
they're everywhere... :D

Also consider some of those sturdy but inexpensive aluminum
military surplus  60'-80' rotary masts. Gary/INR is going to be
erecting a pair of 5el 6M Yagis on one - they are strong and
can be erected by one guy.  Fungus green is pretty easy
to hide.

If you go wid tele poles, make sure you can climb them
[spikes, etc] so that you can add a rotator and beam later
on.

I concur with the flat top Mop.  The higher the better and as far from the house as is possible.  House means yours and your neighbors.  Telephone RFI has always been my problem, but none now with the voltage up high.

I have worked Tim and Buddly and others back there with no static.  Should work fine business.

I did a drive-by last evening on 3885 and heard you S9+10 calling CQ.

Didn't have time to fire up but U sounded marvolous !

My 80 M antenna is center fed zepp at 60 ft with feedpoint right above the house. Only RFI is on Junk phones...a simple LC filter on each solved that,
My beam and 40/160m antenna is lower and closer to the house with absolutely no RFT/TVI...
The TV antenna is at 40 ft between the 80m antenna and the BEAM!
I think the further from the house you can put the antennas the better, but, ya can't always get what ya want!
