Title: WA1STH WebSDR
Post by: wa1sth on September 25, 2020, 08:22:03 AM
Hello,
Not sure if I should have put this in Announcements or here, BUT.  I have put together a WebSDR with the help of Mike, K3FEF.  He has helped GREATLY with this project.  Without his help this project would have taken a lot longer  THANKS Mike.  I have a quiet receive location and hopefully it will be a worthwhile addition in this arena.  For now it is 75/80 meters and the primary intent is for the needs of the AM community.  Mike and I are working out some remaining details but will hopefully have it online by the end of the day on Sunday.  It will probably be up and down for antenna work for the first week and then the goal will be to make it as reliable as possible.  I will keep you all posted through this media.  Please be patient.  73's to all

WebSdr is now online.  There will be short outages during the next week but then. as stated, the goal will be to limit downtime.  It is listed on Websdr.org  the link is http://wa1sthwebsdr.com:8901/

No sound on iPad 10.5 pro using default browser. Using chrome, you have the option “enable iOS audio”

Thanks for bringing the SDR up.  Both the standard full screen version and the mobile versions load and run fine on my iPhone 7. The iOS audio start button is present and works to start audio on the iPhone.  Using Safari as the iPhone browser.

However, when running either Google Chrome or Safari as the browser on the shack duty iMac desktop, the iOS audio start button is not present and can’t start audio.  FYI iMac OS is Catalina, and Java is not up to date

It is currently being worked on so the audio may be in and out.  It should be done soon.

Working well now on the iMac desktop in the shack on both Safari and Chrome browsers.  Also can post chat now, was not not working from here earlier,  Good job!  As they say in Hawaii, Mahalo Nui!

There actually are now 2 sdr sites in New England now.  I also put up the same type of sdr, so in the northeast we have 3 sites now including Mike K3FEF.  Mike was key to helping getting this site up to with his expertise in Linux.  I figured it would be good to have 2 sites running for 75m.  I have this one on a UPS also.

The link wasnt quite correct:   http://sebagolakesdr.us:8901/   I'll fix this at some point so the port isnt necessary.

Cheers.....

WA1STH WebSDR now has 40 and 160 meters.  Antenna is not optimal but seems to be working OK.  Still some "tweaking" to do. Thanks again to Mike, K3FEF for his help.  Comments on performance are welcome and best sent to  WA1STH@yahoo.com      73's

I was sad to see Steve’s SDR go dark, but I have to say that you’ve filled his space very well! Not sure what antenna you use, but it’s a very good resource for me from down here in NJ. THANKS VERY MUCH
